These studies comprised among others oil painting of flowers, hands, portraits, cityscapes and nudes. He travelled and lived in France, Spain, Israel and Germany, experiences, which contributed to his evolvement as an artist. His works have been exhibited in several countries.
The work of R. Van Langenhove switches between his impressionism, expressionism and classical painting. At times it even comes close to fauvism. The oil paint is not just a medium to create an impression on the canvas but a substance to try and depict the invisible behind the visible; a spiritual journey of sorts. R. Van Langenhove’s work is inspired by Renoir, Monet, Rembrandt and El Greco. Main themes are contemporary cityscapes, portraits and nudes.
