I was delighted when I saw the deep contrast between the ultramarine(also called the ‘sacred blue’) and the bright yellows in this landscape and was indeed able to portray the emotion behind it, using a mix of yellow ochre and cadmium yellow for the contrast. The slight note of cadmium red in the foreground made it come to life.
